Eagle Scout times 6 (roughly)

Robert Goldsmith of Oceanside, NY, took the time and energy to earn all 121 merit badges from the Boy Scouts. Even the Boy Scouts themselves only require 21 merit badges before you're given the highest rank of Eagle Scout. (Dare to dream, kids.) Read the news items. It's a little disturbing how the reporting is so congratulatory, as if this is some kind of achievement. He's not even a kid. He's 18 years old and a freshman in college. Not even at Harvard or anything. All those stories ought to be re-written with the headline: 'Local Man is Major Dork.'

This whole thing ought to be illegal, if you think about it. I'm starting to think we grant way too many rights to our citizens in this country.
